HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Bryant Bank donated $50,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Alabama Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
The bank presented the check during the board meeting at the Seminole Boys and Girls Club located in the Westside Community Center at Butler Terrace in Huntsville.
This donation will assist the club along with Huntsville City Schools to provide academic intervention programs at each grade level in daily after school programs. It will allow the Boys & Girls Club to continue to provide an employee to the city schools on a daily basis to assist the faculty with relationship based support and encouragement as an advocate for the students and their parents. It will help provide resources to allow the B&GC staff to provide additional programming to serve even more at-risk children from the Seminole Club location.
Boys and Girls Clubs of North Alabama President, Patrick Wynn said, “Huntsville has always had strong corporate partners who invest back in the community and I can’t think of anyone who has done it any better than Bryant Bank.” He continued, “Since the inception of Bryant Bank here locally, they have been great community partners and we are very grateful for this incredible investment. This gift to the Boys & Girls Clubs is what allows us to continue to serve our most at-risk segment of the community. On behalf of our Board, staff, and most importantly, our children, we say thank you for investing in our young people.”
Bryant Bank has supported the Boys & Girls Club for many years through event sponsorship, financial support and banker involvement. Bryant Bank President Ken Watson is a former B&GC Board member and Bryant Bank Senior Vice President, Chris Lindsey, currently serves on the board.
Watson commented, “With having a successful community bank comes the opportunity and privilege of re-investing back into our community. One segment we have historically focused on is children. We are honored to be able to support and help grow developmental, academic, and recreational programs for our youth through these partnerships. The local Boys and Girls Clubs have a long history of success in developing children, preparing them academically and helping them fulfill their aspirations of becoming valuable contributors to society. If we believe in them, they will believe they can achieve great things. We are truly grateful for what Patrick, the Board andstaff do each and every day in serving hundreds of the area’s youth, andwe, at Bryant Bank, are very excited and proud to partner with them in support of their efforts.”
Bryant Bank VP of Community and Business Development and former Alabama and NFL football player, Bobby Humphrey spoke at the presentation and shared his sentiments on the importance of organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs for today’s youth. “It is because of organizations like this that I developed into the person that I am today. Someone invested in me and Bryant Bank is privileged to invest in the lives of young people and our community. We are looking forward to great things in the future.”
