- In addition to Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that is used by other mobile wallets, Samsung Pay can also utilize Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology which replicates swiping a physical card at the payment terminal by securely sending payment information directly to the magnetic strip card reader without touching it.
- When you make a purchase using Samsung Pay, a substitute device account number and a transaction specific code are used to process payments instead of your card number. Your card number is never shared with the merchant or stored by Samsung.
